Winter Engagement at New England Botanic Garden with Christina & Zach
Christina and Zach’s winter engagement session took place at New England Botanic Garden in Boylston, Massachusetts, and it could not have been a better choice for a December day. When winter shows up in full force, this is one of my favorite places to photograph. Between the Limonia and the Orangerie, you get beautiful light, texture, and warmth, even when it’s cold and blustery outside.
And blustery it was. The wind definitely made its presence known that day. At one point, a tree branch hit the roof of the Limonia, and the look of surprise on Christina and Zach’s faces was priceless. If you scroll to the end of this page, you’ll see the exact moment. One of my favorites from the whole session.
Because it was December, the garden was dressed for NEBG’s annual Night Lights event. Twinkle lights, seasonal greenery, and glowing indoor spaces made everything feel cozy and festive. It was the perfect balance for a winter engagement session.
What I love about these two is how fully they leaned into the experience. Zach took the lead, wasn’t afraid to be playful, and clearly loved making Christina laugh. Christina and Zach click in a way that feels natural. They move easily together, like two people who have known each other for a very long time. Watching that unfold naturally is always what I’m hoping for during a session.
This day felt fun, relaxed, and full of real moments, even with the wind trying to steal the show. I’m already counting down to their Gibbet Hill wedding this spring.
Much Love,
Audrey
