Planning a Fruitlands Museum Wedding?

Are you looking for a venue with stunning views? Then a Fruitlands Museum wedding is for you. A wedding at Fruitlands Museum is a classic, rural New England experience. The museum is located in Harvard MA, which is just minutes from Route 2, and 30 miles from Boston. Fruitlands is a convenient and accessible chance to experience and enjoy central Massachusetts’ natural beauty.

Fruitlands Museum is located in the historic area of Prospect Hill. When you arrive you are immediately greeted with gorgeous views of orchards, hay fields, and forests. Prospect Hill offer expansive views to the east, including Wachusett Mountain and Mount Monadnock.

Fruitlands sources their menu ingredients from local farms such as Gibbet Hill Farm in Groton and Verrill Farm in Concord. They are part of the Webber Restaurant Group.

The Museum & History

Fruitlands Museum has a wide ranging collections of art and artifacts for you to enjoy and learn from. The museum is on 210 acres of land, which includes many miles of walking trails and expansive views looking to the east. I encourage you to visit this site, wedding or not. Fruitlands is open seasonally, so do check their website for details and updates.

Fruitlands is rich in New England history. The farmland was a transcendentalist experiment in subsistence farming and Emersonian self-reliance. Amos Bronson Alcott and Charles Lane named and started Fruitlands in 1843, but it only lasted seven months. Clara Endicott Sears open the grounds to the public in 1914, and the museum still has five collections established by Sears.

There are many building on the property for you to explore. The original Fruitlands Farmhouse; the Shaker Museum (which is the first such museum in the country!);  the Native American Museum (celebrating the history of indigenous peoples);  the Wayside Visitor Center (a classroom, education, and exhibition space); and the Art Museum (with seasonal rotating exhibits).

Fruitlands Museum HAS MANY BEAUTIFUL SPACES FOR YOU TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF for your wedding.

The Tent at Fruitlands can accommodate weddings of up to 192 and is on the Brick Patio. The patio and tent are on the side of the hill, so you and your guests can enjoy the expansive and stunning views. Sunsets at Fruitlands are divine.

The Garden is next to teh tent is a popular spot for photos and ceremonies.

The expansive lawns gently slope down to view the eastward rolling hills. The large lawn is also a popular spot for wedding ceremonies. The property is adorned with old stone walls; a quintessential New England backdrop.

Main house and visitors center is adjacent to the tent. The second floor is perfect for getting ready before your wedding. The Tea Room is a great spot for the groomsmen to hang out or perfect for a private Ketubah ceremony.

Fruitlands Museum also offers Fruitlands Café, a counter-style restaurant. Café focuses on locally-sourced, sustainable food that is inspired by the heritage of New England. Enjoy your food at a table at the café, or take it to-go and have a picnic on the lawn.

Fruitlands Museum is stunning and unique and I hope you consider it in your search for a wedding venue.

We love this venue, it’s listed in Our Favorite Central Mass Wedding Venues.

“Truly Outstanding!”

“Audrey is an incredible photographer and genuinely awesome person.  She truly captured the magic of our wedding day and we are blown away by the quality of her photos.  The photos are fantastic and we will cherish them forever.
Audrey is so much more than a photographer too; she went above and beyond with planning and helping on our big day.  Audrey did an expert job of helping us set the timeline for our day and made everyone feel so at ease during photos.  She also stashed a 2nd pair of shoes for me in her bag when we were taking photos because I was nervous about being comfortable in my bridal shoes.  Audrey also helped my mother in law with her earring when she was having trouble with it.
Our bridal party and family loved Audrey and we really appreciated how attentive she is.  She truly cares about making sure everyone is taken care of, so you can enjoy the best day of your lives!  Like many 2020 couples, we had to reschedule our wedding multiple times and ultimately switched our venue.  Audrey was so flexible, understanding and supportive throughout the entire process and it was a relief to know she had our back.
We seriously can’t thank Audrey enough, she is the BEST!”

I WOULD LOVE TO PHOTOGRAPH YOUR Fruitlands Museum Wedding.

Being your Fruitlands Museum wedding photographer gives me an advantage because I know the venue extremely well. I have had to opportunity to photograph many weddings here, as a primary and second photographer.
