Cozy and Sweet: Baby J’s At-home newborn photos
There’s something extra special about at home newborn photos for past wedding clients. I’ve had the joy of capturing Shelby and Steven’s wedding day—and now, getting to meet their sweet baby boy and document this next chapter? Pure magic.
Baby J was about as peaceful and snuggly as they come. We kept the session simple and true to them, using natural light pouring in from their kitchen slider (yes, the kitchen—never underestimate a good light source!). It’s always a fun surprise when clients realize we don’t need a Pinterest-perfect nursery to create beautiful images. A little natural light and a whole lot of love go a long way.
One of my favorite moments was photographing Baby J wrapped in a soft, homemade blue knitted blanket. That personal touch added so much heart to the images—it’s those tiny details that tell the story best.
We also carved out time for those sweet solo shots: mom with her boy, dad with his son, and of course, all three of them together. These quiet, connected moments are the ones I hope parents remember years from now—the feel of a tiny hand, a forehead kiss, the way you each look at your baby with awe.
These at-home sessions are not about perfection—they’re about presence. About meeting your baby right where you are, no fancy setup needed. Just love, light, and trust.
